Careful, Johnny. Arizona's "Ms. NRA," Governor Jan Brewer, will be sticking her boney finger in your face next like she did to President Obama. Brewer: Fla. case doesn't change her mind on 'stand your ground'.
Appearing on CNN’s State of the Union on Sunday, Sen. John McCain joined President Barack Obama's call to review so-called "Stand Your Ground" laws in the aftermath of the acquittal of George Zimmerman in the 2012 shooting of black teen Trayvon Martin. NBC reports, McCain joins Obama in calling for review of 'Stand Your Ground' laws:
Sen. John McCain, Ariz., a prominent Republican who's been known to break ranks with fellow members of the GOP at times, urged state legislatures to review Stand Your Ground laws in the wake of the Zimmerman trial, which became a national flashpoint for race relations in America.
"I can also see that Stand Your Ground laws may be something that needs to be reviewed by the Florida legislature or any other legislature that has passed such legislation," McCain said on CNN.
Asked whether his home state legislature should consider revising its own similar law, McCain said yes.
"I think that, yes, I do, and I'm confident that the members of the Arizona legislature will because it is a very controversial legislation," he said.
McCain on Sunday chided Sen. Ted "Calgary" Cruz — the "wacko bird" senator from Texas with whom he has clashed — suggesting that he didn't share the Texas senator's suspicions conspiracy theories (“It is not surprising that the president uses, it seems, every opportunity that he can to go after our Second Amendment right to bear arms.") Always with the McCarthyism, eh Calgary?
"Isn't this time for us to try to come together? Isn't it time for America to come together in light of several weeks of what is really exacerbating relations between elements of our society? I'd rather have a message of coming together and discussing these issues rather than condemning," McCain said. " I just respect his view, but I don't frankly see the connection."

The senator also praised the remarks Obama delivered about the Zimmerman case on Friday, calling them “very impressive” and pledging to meet with more African American and Hispanic groups in Arizona. “I need Americans to talk to their friends and neighbors, not just those on their block or in their circle of friends,” he said.
Watch it:
McCain said that Americans “cannot be complacent in our society when we still have a dramatic disparity between black youth unemployment and non-black youth unemployment when we still have these contradictions in our society.” He also called on lawmakers to “continue and emphasize affirmative action programs.”
“If you can salvage anything about this national …. clash of ideas, of thoughts about this Trayvon Martin case, it is that we’ve still got a long way to go, and I think the president very appropriately highlighted a lot of that yesterday, as only a president of the United States can,” he said.
