Yesterday and today, Private Bradley Manning testified in his own defense in a military court. Manning has been imprisoned for 921 days without a trial because he allegedly sent secret US documents to WikiLeaks founder Julian Assange, who published thousands of pages of previously classified material.
Are Assange and Manning free speech warriors who wanted the world to know about the secret dealings of the US government (as well as other governments)? Or are they terrorists?
Whatever your viewpoint, it will be fascinating to see how this story unfolds now that Manning is allowed to talk.
Check out this very detailed Huffington Post story by Assange, who is in exile in the Ecuadorian embassy in London.
