I'm not a lawyer, so I won't try to comment on Daniel Patterson's acquittal on charges of domestic violence, but I want to post about it since I wrote about Patterson's personal and political problems on BfA. From the Star article:
Former Democratic state Rep. Daniel Patterson has been acquitted of four misdemeanor domestic violence charges relating to his former girlfriend and former wife.
Tucson City Magistrate Wendy Million acquitted Patterson on the sole harassment count he was facing in regards to his ex-wife, Jeneiene Schaffer, after a one day bench trial on Aug. 13, Tucson City Prosecutor Baird Greene said.
The judge took the charges regarding his former girlfriend, Georgette Escobar, under advisement. On Wednesday, she issued a minute entry advising she'd acquitted him on those charges as well, Baird said.
Patterson's tweet about the verdict had a portion cut out in the Star story. Here's the entire tweet:
from @DanPattersonUSA twitter: Court finds me NOT GUILTY on all DV charges pushed by #Tucson City Atty & haters. Truth & justice win! #AZ politicians dissed my voters.
