So I was watching Stevie Huffman's immigration-centric ad, and one image in particular struck me:
We have Stevie, on his knees, in the dark (maybe near a lonely freeway rest stop somewhere), delicately holding a big, hard, shiny phallic object, and looking quite winsome. Then it struck me: Stevie really has become Jim Kolbe.
Oh, I know the thought is unworthy, but humor so often is. Props to the guys; you know who you are...
This "joke" is really ugly, Michael. Mocking Kolbe's sexual orientation is in no way amusing. You should pull this right away as it is nasty, uncivil and insulting to gays, lesbians AND straights. I will be astonished if anyone laughs at this or approves of it and will feel horrible if anyone who is gay has to read it.

If you want to control what a blog publishes, get your own, Rex. I know it's a nasty joke. That's the point. Don't like what I write here? Don't read here. It's a free internet.

Since we worked on the same team as Deaniacs, I know this "joke" doesn't express your beliefs or values, Michael. But, in this social climate, with the prevalence of gay-bashing and the so-called Marriage Protection Amendment going before voters, I just think this is inappropriate. Thanks for listening.

Well, thank you for not judging me on one stupid joke. There is a point where certain things in one's social universe are so accepted that considering them to be taboo as a source of humor doesn't even occur to you. I wouldn't think twice about making a joke about someone being stupid, or wealthy, or ugly, that's just how humans are. Likewise, humans are gay. So many people I know and love are gay, that it doesn't seem to me a taboo to make humor about it. Nor does it to them.
Just to be clear, I didn't mean to demean or offend any one by ridiculing their sexuality, whatever it might be. Rather, I very much intended to crack one over Steve's head by ridiculing him, and his apprentice relationship with Kolbe for the many Conservatives that actually come here. I know they are homophobic, and the suggestion will give them a hostile little twist.
My Google ranking is great. Within a few days any winger twitwit who types in 'huffman minuteman' will quickly be lookin' at my little joke. Confusion and woe to our foes. Use their prejudices against them, I say.

Rex, I am a straight and I am not the slightest bit offended by Michael's comments. Huffman was really asking for it with this ad.

Already having an effect (http://sonoranalliance.com/?p=167) out in fragile male sexual identity land.

Michael,
My partner and I were busting up reading this thread.
This isn't a dis on gays. This is just guys dissin' on guys.
Anybody who is secure in his own sexuality will find it funny.
Has anyone forwarded this thread to Arizonaeight? I'd love to find out what the other side thinks of this.

I think we should call on all Jewish comedians to stop making jewish jokes!
Maybe David Sedaris should stop performing his gay comedy routine.
I enjoy the snark, especially at the expense of politicians who are going to support the ironically named "Protect Marriage Act".
You go Mike!

Even though Iam a million-aire and could have dumped alot of money and time into this cd8 race and have alot of behind the scenes backing from the Party Leaders and Unions I choose not to hit the ground running twice in 2004 and 2006 and stepped aside for the "Good of The Party." I now call on Jeff Latas to do the same immediatly. It would serve him better NOT to have a "LOSS" in a primary at this time;where he could make another run at a Legislative Office or some other Office if he so chooses. The Party will think more highly of him if he "Steps Aside " NOW and focuses on his family.

Liester, since your idea of the good of the party is supporting "Stop the invasion" Bill Johnson, I'm not sure you should be dispensing advice on this topic. Not to mention that you might consider that Jeff's family affairs are none of your business.
And all of that is not to mention that you totally off topic here. If you want to make oracular pronouncements, write a press release and send it someone who gives a shit.

Ha Ha! I checked out that post at sonoran alliance. Isn't it amazing how those people are so quick to publish pictures bordering on gay porn when discussing their aversion to homosexuality?

Mike;
I am supported by The Alamo Alliance that supports both Political Party Candidates who sign the America First Pledge. I DO NOT support Bill Johnson but welcome like minded people running for Congress from any party.
In 2004 I signed the millionares waiver with the F.E.C. so that at any time of my choosing I could use what-ever funds needed to educate the public about the behind the scenes La Raza movement that is gaining national attention, and is represented by Raul Grijalvia and as he puts it" and a whole lot of people."
The movement is not just about migrants it is about your and my Countries Sovernty and future as a nation free of dictation from a foriegn power that has the intent to dominate the America we now know in every aspect of our society beginning with School Boards all the way to the top! I suggest you read the web-site of the Alamo Alliance or my web-site and begin to "STOP THE INVASION!"

Jeff Latas brought his "Family Affairs" front and center every single time he speaks in public ,since I first heard of this guy. Democratic Party members heard of Jeffs Family story at club meetings, Democrats of Greater Tucson lunches, Bill Buckmaster Arizona Illustrates, every single time he speaks is about the plight of a family member who signed up in the Army who had cancer and the government paying the medical bills. KVOA ran a story about Jeffs personal life in early January of which I called the newscaster and asked why he focused on Jeffs Family life and not the issues. He told me he "Wanted To Get Ahead Of The Story." What ever that means would tend to say there is more to this story than we are being told.

Mike; As for sponsoring your web-site I told you privately that I thought your good work on this site was "Genious! I do not have to agree with everthing that is said but appreciate a free wheeling debate where everyone can talk it out. There is nothing worse than a boss or Candidate or Office Holderthat thinks he or she has all the answers. There is a difference between right and wrong though. I always found comfort in having discussions with people with whom I do not agree and they usually enjoyed talking to me also. My family comes from a wide background and has enjoyed support from the Tucson community since before Arizona was a State and before P.A. was a State as well!
Support of your web-site is not out of the question as you portrayed here today.

Nationalism as the key to organization transcends all religious, political, class and economic factors or boundaries. Nationalism is the common denominator that all members of La Raza can agree upon.

I wonder if he thinks anyone is reading his threefers? About as much substance as a commercial for Lee Press-On Nails.
