Drinking Liberally is a place for citizens to indulge in the pleasures of democracy: conversation, debate, socializing, networking, rabble-rousing, and just enjoying the company of your fellow citizens. The idea of an American Republic was born in the taverns of the American colonies. We strongly believe that the dreams that shape tomorrow's America will also be born in our taverns, among everyday folks like you and me.
Drinking Liberally is a national organization with local chapters more than 200 cities across America, and around the world. We are a volunteer based organization, but it does cost money to run a national network, and donations are always welcome (see the Tip Jar on the side bar).
In Tucson, Drinking Liberally meets every Thursday evening at the Shanty starting at 6pm. Every week you will meet old friends and new acquaintances. Please join our low volume announcement only mailing list to receive the latest announcements about Tucson Drinking Liberally events. To discuss current events, to make suggestions for special guests, or just to make a suggestion, please drop in at our bulletin board for the Tucson chapter. Drinking Liberally also has a group on Facebook, so if you're a member, please join us!
Frequently, we have special guest speakers who have a unique perspective on current affairs, who are candidates for office and officeholders, or are experts in their fields. Check our online calendar for the latest information on upcoming guests and special events
