University Blvd. The Office of Congresswoman Gabrielle Giffords, in conjunction with the University of Arizona, invite you to attend an interactive town hall event about our nation’s deficit. The town hall will feature the Concord Coalition’s Fiscal Solutions Tour, which includes an overview of the federal budget, national debt and our nation’s other major fiscal challenges. Leading the discussion will be two of our nation’s most respected voices of budget issues: the Honorable David Walker and Robert Bixby. They also will discuss options for closing our budget deficit and restoring fiscal sanity to Washington. Start Our State: Baja Arizona Independence Day
Saturday, July 2, 5:00 p.m.: Start Our State hosts the first annual Baja Arizona Independence Day, at the Rialto Theater, 318 E. Congress Street (Tucson). Live music, food, voter registration, petition signing, and informal information sessions so that voters can learn what the effort is all about. Scheduled to perform at the event are local standouts Gabe Sullivan and Taraf de Tucson, Tom Walbank, Silverbell, Seashell Radio, Yardsale Heart, and more acts to be announced. Attendees can also expect various speakers, including Start Our State's chairs Paul Eckerstrom and Peter Hormel, along with voter registration and information on the Start Our State movement. We will also be collecting signatures to get our initiative on the Pima county ballot for the November 2012 elections. Things get started at the Rialto at 5:00pm, with a suggested donation of $10, or $5 for new registrants/petition signers.
