Sunday, March 28, Noon: Congressman Raúl Grijalva is hosting a "Sunday Health Care Appreciation Walk" today at Noon. The event begins at Grijalva's re-election headquarters at 452 S. Stone Avenue.
Monday, March 29, Noon: Democrats of Greater Tucson luncheon, Dragon's View Restaurant (400 N. Bonita, south of St. Mary's Road between the Freeway and Grande Avenue, turn south at Furr's Cafeteria), buffet lunch costs $8.50. Special Guest speaker is Congressman Raúl Grijalva. (Congressional candidate Jon Hulburd had to reschedule).
Thursday, April 1, 6:00 p.m.: The 21st Annual LULAC Educational Awards & Scholarship Banquet, at the Tucson Convention Center Copper Room, 260 S. Church; (no-host cocktails at 5:30 PM). This year Congressman Raúl Grijalva and Attorney General Terry Goddard will receive special recognition for their work in bettering the lives of young people. Tickets are $75 (tax-deductible for the amount exceeding $25). Proceeds will go to LULAC Council 1057's effort to send students to attend the LULAC Washington National Youth Leadership Seminar and to provide scholarships with LULAC's National Scholarship Foundation. Monday, April 5, 11:30 a.m: Democrats of Greater Tucson luncheon, Dragon's View Restaurant (400 N. Bonita, south of St. Mary's Road between the Freeway and Grande Avenue, turn south at Furr's Cafeteria), buffet lunch costs $8.50. The regular program has been rescheduled this week to encourage attendance at Terry Goddard's formal Campaign Kickoff event in Tucson on the same date and time. DGT will meet early for vanpooling to the Goddard Campaign Kickoff event from the restaurant. (Although the regular luncheon will not take place, DGT requests that members come early and continue to support the restaurant this week!)

The League of Women Voters of Greater Tucson and the Catalina United Methodist Church Committee on Church, Society and Missions Forum on Prop. 100
Tuesday, April 13, 7:00 p.m.: The League of Women Voters of Greater Tucson and the Catalina United Methodist Church Committee on Church, Society and Missions will host a forum on Prop. 100, at the Fellowship Hall on the Catalina United Methodist Campus, 2700 E. Speedway (Tucson). Prop. 100 is the temporary 1-cent-per-dollar sales-tax increase that will be on the May 18 ballot. The two-hour forum will begin at 7 p.m. On the pro side: former Tucson lawmaker Pete Hershberger and education activist Ann-Eve Pedersen. Against: former Pima County Supervisor Paul Marsh and John Kromko, president of the Pima Association of Taxpayers.
